DVD FORUM'S NORTH AMERICAN DVD CONFERENCE
-- The DVD Forum is an international association of hardware manufacturers, software firms, content providers and other users of Digital Versatile Discs. The Forum's purpose is to exchange and disseminate ideas and information about the DVD Format and its technical capabilities, improvements and innovations. The Forum works to promote broad acceptance of DVD products on a worldwide basis, across entertainment, consumer electronics and IT industries. Membership is open to any corporation or organization which is engaged in activities related to DVD research, development and/or manufacturing. We also welcome new members from software firms or other user of DVD products with an interest in further developing and improving the DVD Format. Forum Members are not required to support the DVD Format to the exclusion of other formats. The DVD Forum was founded in 1995 under the original name DVD Consortium.

This year’s event highlights the ongoing roll out of HD DVD, the new and thrilling format defined by the Forum itself, and standing proudly on the shoulders of the immensely successful DVD format to deliver new features and benefits to the consumer. We will share the latest on all the happenings surrounding this major industry evolution, including projections on how HD DVD will impact the consumer market, technical updates from industry leaders in the consumer electronics, PC environment, gaming platforms, and software and disc replication, including speakers from Intel, Microsoft, Toshiba, Deluxe, Cinram, CEA and many others.

Studio Leaders Talk HD DVD!
All the major home video studios leading the world in delivering HD DVD content will join at our table to discuss their direct experiences and plans for continuing the roll out of HD DVD titles, including the synergy of HD DVD with the high-definition revolution happening in content and televisions, the birth of a new unprecedented level of interactivity which is allowing producers and creative talents to unlock entirely new visions of how consumers can enjoy the content in new ways. All moderated by an industry leading panel host. Studios scheduled to participate include Warner Home Video, Paramount, Universal, New Line Cinema, and HBO.

Latest In DVD Technology and Applications!
In this PM session we will share the latest on higher-speed recordable DVD formats and their application in exciting new products, both aimed at consumer electronics, PC drive applications, and entirely new business models including previews of kiosk download and record of studio content for potentially unlimited and immediate access to movie titles present and past. Speakers scheduled to present include Panasonic, Pioneer, Warner Home Video, Hewlett Packard, IDC and more.
